August 18, 2026 Small detail - the "send button". I wrote an email last week and aparently neglected to hit the final send button 🤦🏻♀️ so you never got it. Which did made a difference in some ways - you didn't hear my news when it was fresh - but it's mostly not that impactful - you didn't know there was news to know, and probably weren't all that worried about missing this email in your jam packed inbox. And then there's this little details like a zero. One extra 0 makes 10 turn into 100. That's not small, not usually. Making a large purchase, filing important medical paperwork, applying for approval to a major project - in these places the small detail makes a huge impact. Someone gets one number wrong or forgets a word some where and months if not years of your life can be altered, generally in unpleasant ways. But on the flip side, a small detail is a key to incredibly lovely things. A lot of my life is looking for the little details that make a big impact in ways that delight, relieve, and please. A little tendon being massaged just so and having your whole arm feel better and move better. A small shift in language that means couples are connected instead of triggering the shit out of each other. These are great details to be tuned into. You're probably doing it all the time, whether you notice or not - making a small shift somewhere that goes a long way. Think of the last time you stumbled into a teensy tiny detail that made a massive difference - what was it? Was it hard to do? Fun to do? Was it your idea or did someone suggest it? What effect did it have on your life? Does it make you curious what else is possible by shifting a bitty little thing? I love thinking about this because it makes me realize that a lot of what I do is wayyyyy more effortful than it needs to be. I catch myself spending a lot of time and energy thinking about how to make big meaningful shifts with big meaningful actions, weighing all the different pros and cons of every potential path, trying to pick the best one. Nothing wrong with that persay, though it is tiring and I don't reaaaallly notice it mattering that much. A fruitful (and sometimes even fun though just as often uncomfortable because I feel the "do more!!!" itch) focus for me is to take that same amount of time just experiences life and sorta... watching it. Eventually I spot a little thing that seems worth adjusting, do it, and move on with my day and a month or week or year later, see the results in a positive way. This month, I've got a pile of little details that do need obsessing over - lots of small tweaks to big application that will have a very big, and hopefully very pleasant impact on my life and yours too! Embodied Works is coming to life in those details. Here's last week's email to learn what that is all about. Oh, and since you'll be wondering - the meeting went well!!! August 11, 2026 Reader! Please wish me luck 🤞 I have a meeting tomorrow with the Colorado DPOS!! Last email, I mentioned I would tell you about Embodied Works, SiM’s buddy business. I love Stability in Motion. This "business” is really the avenue through which I can be who I want to be in this world - a peer support player for people going through shit, helping them get to the other side stronger, wiser, more genuinely deeply content. Through SiM, I get to share about bodies and how they work, how to connect to your body, and how that body is no different than your mind, it is the same thing. I get to share space with people - with you! - who are full of wisdom and intelligence and loads of knowledge but who's lives still aren't really working - They hurt They do all the healthy things but they still feel like shit They fight way too much with their partner They can't connect with friends the way the want even though they try They realize the life they have been working so hard to build doesn't actually fit who they are as a person Their fucked up childhood keeps interrupting the flow of their grown ass adult lives. Whatever the details are - the theme is that all the intellect in the world won't get you out of the grips of an emotional ocean. People drown in their feelings or try to get out of them, to land, to a boat, to a life raft. But the seas of emotions are what we live in. Stability in Motion teaches you to swim. How does this answer what Embodied Works is? Embodies Works teaches you to teach. I am starting a school (yes, it is as much of a logistical nightmare as it sounds)! It's awesome. It's a lot. I'm stoked about it. I'm very very very scared. Of it failing, of it working, and especially of it working really really really well. It's a school that will have a Massage Therapy Foundations Program setting people up for becoming licensed massage therapists. It will have a coaching certificate program equipping people to be trauma savvy, and have human to human connections that hold the real shit without breaking any one. It will have amazing body work classes that help practitioners engage with the body and the mind as one entity, because feeling the feels is in the flesh and in the psyche alike. So back to that meeting, DPOS is the Colorado department of private occupational schools. We're talking about little edits to my application to become a real school. I'm excited - I hope you are too I'll keep you all posted, but for now, Ahhhh!!! It's happening!!!! -Kate

I'm a bodyworker, coach, artist and lover of life and learning. Every week I send out SiMple things to make you smile and reflect, and every now and again I'll send you information about different ways you for you to learn about bodies, art, movement, relationships and life.
October 14, 2026 Can you take it easy, Reader? My answer has been no. Really it's been more of "ha, that's funny" or a "why would you even ask me such a thing?" or a simple, "fuck. no." Seriously, it has felt super tough to chill out, physically impossible. I've got sooooo much going externally and internally that the "free time" on that most days on my calendar is large enough to cook or eat or go grocery shopping but certainly not all three. Needless to say I'm alternating between hungry,...
October 8 2026 How are you, Reader? No really, how are you? I want you to tell me, and that's why I asked. If I didn't want to know, and I asked any way, I could claim that I am just being polite, doing what people do to say hi, but I don't really believe it's all that polite. “I hate how are you” said a client two days back. They were not the first ones to express this sentiment, and I tend to agree. The conversation we had after was a perfect example of the unexpectedly juicy thing that...
