October 14, 2026 Can you take it easy, Reader? My answer has been no. Really it's been more of "ha, that's funny" or a "why would you even ask me such a thing?" or a simple, "fuck. no." Seriously, it has felt super tough to chill out, physically impossible. I've got sooooo much going externally and internally that the "free time" on that most days on my calendar is large enough to cook or eat or go grocery shopping but certainly not all three. Needless to say I'm alternating between hungry, and very grateful for grocery store sushi. What is it full with? Some very very incredibly awesome things like the School of Embodied Works being approved, and the prices of getting materials made, and doing fun events to get people aware of it and enrolling for the February cohort. And some really really impossibly difficult things like my pedophile abuser of 7 years (9 if you count grooming) dying this August and figuring out how to deal with all the upheaval that has caused my insides. And some really really incredibly delightful stuff like my practice being 10 years old this month and full of people that I really really look forward to seeing everytime they are on my books (hey you guys!!), even when I'm having a hard day. Also, you know, every other normal daily living thing life has. So yeah, I'm friggin swamped, and no, I do not feel chill. My instinct? Spend all my free time staring at my nightmare calendar thinking about how to optimize the free time in it to feel better/have a bigger impact. Effective? Zero percent. Mostly produces more overwhelm with a side of panic. So this week I'm doing this differently. I blocked off two days to fall apart/melt/reassess whatever you wanna call it by myself (no spectacular dog, no amazing husband, noooo work, just me) away from my home, and very very very close to hot springs. Instead of freaking out about what an insanely privileged thing it is to be able to do that, and worry about whether I should let myself have such a luxury, I'm ditching the guilt in favor of being really fucking grateful that I can a) take the time, b) have the relational support, and b) spend the money on doing this. A special thanks to Wolf pack and even specialer (it's a word now) thanks to Dagny for making this happen. I'm coming back home for the party on Friday, where instead of anxiously aiming to introduce the school perfectly and kick it off with perfect have lots and a good speech and the right layout and being a good business person whatever the fuck that means, I'm gonna spend time with my friends and clients and any strangers (aka future friends) that attend celebrating the badass things I did this year with their support. I'm gonna look inside at the hard shit swirling inside me and then look in the mirror and instead of seeing a person who "still lets it get to them", see a person who had busted her ass on building a life full of people who treat me right and an attitude of "wow, isn't life full of things worth feeling?" instead. I don't know what you're dealing with this week, Reader but I know that shit's rough sometimes and life is always full. We're all just around the corner from Overwhelm, if not sitting in it's living room, and it can feel impossible to get off the loop of distress and reacting to life. But we can get off the loop, even if just for a moment. Take a second, and look at your self, and name the things your living through, name the things you are doing with your life. And when you see that it's a lot, see that's a lot to be proud of, to celebrate, to pay yourself on the back for. And if you wanna come crash or party so we can make it one big group celebration, join me at the open house next Friday (rsvp by getting a free ticket) if you're free. Send a friend on your behalf of you're busy, they'll have their own shit to celebrate. Adios - I gotta go chill out - I hope you do too. Kate

October 8 2026 How are you, Reader? No really, how are you? I want you to tell me, and that's why I asked. If I didn't want to know, and I asked any way, I could claim that I am just being polite, doing what people do to say hi, but I don't really believe it's all that polite. “I hate how are you” said a client two days back. They were not the first ones to express this sentiment, and I tend to agree. The conversation we had after was a perfect example of the unexpectedly juicy thing that...
